We rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations to continue our mission of providing books and necessary resources to those that need it most.
To date, Book Angel has been able to collect and distribute over 160,000 books and over 1.5 Million Dollars worth of PPP, School Supplies, Teacher Resources, Appliances, Home Goods, Adult Diapers, Medical Supplies and Food. We continue our efforts to scale and work with partners to explore new ways to give children, families and communities books, resources and greater opportunities to succeed. Another way we help to promote literacy and learning is by leveraging technology. With Book Angel Story Time, volunteers read stories that we publish online. Learners can following along and strengthen their literacy skills while enjoying a book read by caring adults, children and or youth in our community.
We need persons that can read books both in English and in other languages
We are in need of volunteers to help us inventory received donations and sticker books in our Wearhouse. The preparation of donated items is a vital part of our operations.
One of the ways that we get books to children and supplies to families is through community outreach. We often partner with special events, churches and food banks. Volunteers that help us in this capacity will help to set up and break down our spaces at these events. Volunteers will also hand out bags of books and or supplies to children.

The Book Walk is a Carnival Style event an additional emphases on literacy and physical activity. Think your favorite's 5K event meets a carnival resource fair with the theme "Oh the Places You Will Go" by Dr. Seuss
Our Love2Read and Read-A-Thon Campaigns work to leverage technology to bring students together with family and friends to encourage reading to to build literacy skills.
These events promises to be a fun, exciting journey for all participants as they begin a personal Reading Adventure that challenges each reader to complete at least 10 reading sessions over our 3 week event(s)
For these events to be successful we need volunteer Teacher/Leaders to help champion this initiative with a small group that is either assigned to you or that you recruit. You will also be required to activate your own and help ensure that other children and their families activate their personal pages and log their reading minutes.
Our last Read-A-Thon had 161 Participants with over 131,000 minutes read
The inaugural Lit Gala will happen September 2024. This event is chaired by Dr. Rachael Yvonne Davis. We are currently seeking a Co-Chair and a Host Committee.
This event will serve as a formal fundraising event.
In keeping with the theme of the "Lit Gala" - Literary Gala, attendees will dress in theme / character from their favorite children's book. It will be a celebration of literacy, education, and we will also honor volunteers and others in the community for their lifetime achievements and resiliency.
